A wonderful Antique Victorian Silver Travelling lamp or Carriage Lamp designed to be used while travelling. The Lantern is design to be used standing or hung from two hooks. A cleaver spring mechanism moves the candle up as it burns down. This Lamp includes a small vesta case and is embellished with two beautifully engraved monograms.

Made in London, England in 1871 by Jane Brownett & Retailed by Metcalfe & Co, 8 Pall Mall London.
