An impressive Antique William IV Sterling Silver Soup Tureen with an oval form and four generously proportioned scroll and foliate feet. The Body of the Soup Serving Tureen is embellished with a classic scroll and shell border around the rim. The Tureen has a pair of reeded handles embellished with stylised leaves. The domed lid of the Tureen has a chased fluted band and a striking leaf and shell patterned handle. The Body of the Tureen has an engraved armorial and there is a small engraved crest on the lid.
Made in London, England in 1834 by William Brown.
