A beautiful Antique George III Sterling Silver Soup Tureen in a classic Neo Classical style. This Oval Silver Soup Tureen stands on an oval spread pedestal foot and has a pair elegant reeded loop handles terminating in a leaf pattern. The Tureen is embellished with a series of chased gadroon pattern bands on the base, body and lid. The Lid and Base have matching radiating fluting created in elegant fan like design. The Body of the Tureen has an oval cartouche on either side, one engraved with a crest and one with a floral design.

Made in London, England in 1780 by Thomas Hemming.
