Pair Antique Victorian Silver Gilt & Cut Glass Claret Jugs Wine Decanters 1881/3

A fine and decorative matched pair of Victorian silver-gilt mounted Claret Jugs, combining richly chased metalwork with beautifully cut and engraved clear glass bodies. The ovoid glass bodies are divided into two distinct decorative area divided by a decorative pierced band. The upper section features delicate naturalistic etching depicting birds among foliage and flowering plants, whilst the lower portion is dressed in bold hobnail and fan-cut diamond patterns, catching the light with exceptional brilliance.
Made in London, England in 1881 & 1885 by Charles Edwards.
Approx. Height - 29.5 / 30.5cm
Each Silver Mounter Claret Jug has a Full English Hallmark.
These Claret Jugs are in excellent condition with no damage. There is very light cosmetic wear to gilding.
