Monumental Antique German Silver Beer Stein / Tankard / Flagon c. 1920

A magnificent Antique German Silver lidded Beer Stein. This monumental lidded Tankard is decorated with rich and detailed chased designs depicting medieval Knights engaged in a battle. Some are mounted and some on foot wearing armour and wielding weapons. The theme is enhances by a large figure of a knight with an engraved flag serving as an oversized finial on the lid of the Tankard. The Silver Flagon has a large scroll handle with a well modelled knight figure forming the lower half of the handle.

This Silver Stein is enormous and a truly unique and impressive statement piece.
