Magnificent Modern Britannia Silver Bowl c. 2000 Roger Doyle
c. 2000
A magnificent circular Silver Bowl made by Roger Doyle. The lightly hammered exterior is defined by a series of flowing, organic cut-out bands that wrap around the form in an undulating rhythm, revealing glimpses of the gilded interior beneath. These pierced apertures create a sense of movement and lightness, contrasting beautifully with the solid weight of the piece.
This Bowl is both useful and sculptural and is substantial enough to stand as a centrepiece in its own right. The bowl calls to mind traditional ceramic pieces while embracing classic modernist elements.
This Bowl is created in 958 Britannia Standard Silver.
