The Antique William IV Scottish Silver Tea Caddy is rectangular with softly bowed sides, standing on four elaborate scroll feet, and is entirely decorated in high-relief repoussé and chased ornament. The surface is richly worked with scrolling foliage and floral motifs interspersed with figural panels, all framed within flowing rococo-style cartouches. One side features an engraved presentation inscription. The hinged domed lid is equally lavish, with dense foliate chasing and has a substantial floral finial.
