A beautiful Solid Silver rectangular Inkstand with an ornate shell, leaf and scroll border and standing on four scroll and shell feet. The Inkstand has a silver and cut glass Inkwell and a silver and cut glass sand shaker. These are fitted on either side of a gorgeous shell and blossom shaped chamber stick candle holder, which acts as a fitted and removable lid for a compartment. The Inkstand has room for two pens.

Made in Birmingham in 1837 by Robinson, Edkins & Aston.

This Inkstand has a full English Hallmark on the underside, on the collars and lids of the glass jars and on the Chamberstick. The pins on the underside are part marked.
