A magnificent Antique Scottish Silver Pair of Silver Mounted Ram's Horn Desk Set / Mess Hall Centrepieces comprising of an Inkwell and a traditional Snuff Mull. Each Horn has a Silver Neck & Hinged Lid set with a oval amethyst stone. The Horns both have silver shield shaped cartouches engraved with monograms and each has a silver terminal cap on the ends. The Horns stand on Silver Ball Feet. Each horn is beautifully curved and richly patinated, showcasing the deep, organic texture of the ram’s horn, enhanced by polished sterling silver mounts.
Made in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1909 and 1910 by Donald Gill Swanston.
