An impressive Antique Victorian Silver Mounted Claret Jug. This Victorian Wine Jug has an ornate Sterling Silver mount featuring rich chased details and with a rather monumental face mark form, likely of Bacchus, ornamenting the Jug below the spout. The mount features a pair of plain oval cartouches that can be engraved if desired. The body of the Claret Jug has a tapered straight sided shape embellished with a classic hobnail cut glass pattern.
Made in London in 1881 by Charles Boyton

Approx. Diameter of Base – 11.4cm
This Claret Jug has Full English Hallmarks on the mount and is part marked on the strap around the body and lid.
This Victorian Claret Jug is in excellent condition with no damage.
