A beautiful Antique Indian Sterling Silver Decanter with a subtle lobed design embellished with delicate floral chased designs. The engraving on the Decanter reads -
Presented to Mess of the Royal Sussex Light Infantry Militia by Major The Honble H. Gage and Captn H. Bethune, 1863.
The base of the Decanter is decorated with stylized leaf patterns surrounding each lobe. One lobe has the presentational inscription and the other each feature a variety of different flowers.

Made in India in circa 1863.

The Decanter has full clear English hallmarks on the underside of the base.
