Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Inkstand Inkwell Desk Tidy London, England 1823

An Antique George IV Sterling Silver Inkstand with a rectangular base embellished with beautiful Rococo Revival elements. The Inkstand is supported by four impressive shell and scroll feet adorned with leaves and the border of the Silver Inkstand has a classic gadroon pattern. This shell and Gadroon Pattern is mirrored with a second border around the two cut glass inkwells and a central box featuring a small rectangular chamberstick complete with snuffer which functions as a lid to the box. The Silver Lids of the Inkwells and the nozzle of the Candleholder are all decorated with a Shell and Gadroon Border. The inkstand functions as desk tidy and features two good sized sunken wells for pens.
This Inkwell is of notably impressive weight and excellent quality.
Made in London, England in 1823 by Joseph Craddock and William Ker Reid.
