Antique French Silver Gilt & Enamel Writing Desk Set c1890 Pen Pencil Clock Seal

A gorgeous Antique French Silver and Enamel Writing Set or Desk Set encased in a silver and enamel box shaped like a book. The hinged front 'cover' features an iridescent deep blue guilloche enamel design on the exterior and interior surfaces. The box contained a rectangular hinged Inkwell and clock which fold out from the box. There is an empty compartment for stamps, and a compartment containing a blank silver gilt seal. There is an also a curved compartment containing a cream handled pen and pencil set - the pen with fountain pen nib and the pencil with an original wooden pencil inserted into a holder.

Made in France in c 1890.
