Antique German Silver Casket Box 'Triumph of Napoleon' Hanau c. 1900

A magnificent Antique Silver Casket in a rectangular form with chased panels forming the sides. The Front panel is inspired by Anne-Louis Girodet de Roussy-Trioson's Painting 'Napoleon Receiving the Keys of Vienna' and a similar scene on the back. The side panels show a central crest surrounded by cherubic figures and fabric swags. This casket stands on four impressive Eagle shaped feet. The hinged lid is topped by an impressive figure of Napoleon on horseback surrounded by the debris of a battlefield. The interior of the Silver Casket is Gilded.
This Casket was made in Hanau Germany in c. 1900 by Georg Roth. It is produced in 800 standard silver.
