An impressive pair of Antique Solid Silver Goblets of substantial size embellished with a band of chases leaves around the base of the cup and a detailed engraving on the side. This engraving shows a Greyhound Dog with a background of trees and is engraved SPRING - Belonging to Robert Wellwood of Garrock who won this Cup 6th Nov. 1800 by beating 5 other Dogs. The interior of each Goblet is lightly gilded. These Goblets were made in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1799 by McHattie & Fenwick. Approx. Total Weight - 650g / 20.9oz Approx. Height - 18.1cm Approx. Diameter at Rim - 10.2cm

CONDITION

These goblets are in excellent condition with no damage. The engraving is lightly worn commensurate with age and use, but still entirely legible.
