An impressive Antique George III Solid Silver Lidded Tankard decorated with beautiful chased decorating. The Tankard features a shaped cartouche with an engraved armorial in the centre. On the opposite side of the Tankard is a chased scene showing a rotund man sitting on a barrel enjoing a beer. The rest of the tankard and domed lid is decorated with floral and acroll patterns. The Tankard has a substantial scroll handle. Made in Newcastle, UK in 1772 by John Langlands. Approx. Weight - 832g / 26.7oz Approx. Capacity - 750 mls Approx. Height - 20.1cm
