A magnificent Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Soup Tureen in a classic oval form. This Tureen stands on four impressive scroll feet with a stylised acanthus leaf embellishment. The Body of the Tureen has a Gadroon Pattern Border on the rim and two shell and scroll handles. The Tureen has two applied Cartouches, one with an engraved crest on the centre. The stepped, domed lid has an impressive acanthus leaf design on the handle of the lid. Made in London in 1816 by William Burwash. Approx. Weight - 3296g / 106oz Approx.
