An impressive antique George IV chased Silver Beer Jug. This Jug has a classic baluster shape and is covered with an ornate chased design on the entire body of the jug. Each side of the Jug has a large shaped cartouche surrounded by stylized scroll and foliate designs with some medieval style bird heads subtly included in the design. The Cartouches each show a scene of a man and a woman in period clothes with historical buildings in the back ground. The Beer Jug has a substantial leaf topped scroll handle and stands on a chased spread pedestal foot.
Originally designed as a Beer Jug, this Jug is of a size for ale, Pimms, water and cocktails.

Made in London in 1823 by Eley and Fearn.
