French Large Silver Jardinière Centrepiece Bowl circa 1890 1st Grade Silver

A magnificent Antique French Silver Jardinière Centrepiece of notably heavy weight and large size. This oval Bowl is supported by four detailed Sphinx figures which in turn stand on an elongated octagonal base supported by 4 ball feet. The Bowl has an ornate chased design on the exterior showing classical faces, shell designs, cornucopia and stylised leaves. The Bowl has acanthus leaf topped scroll handles with rams heads on the interior of the scroll. The Jardinière has a removable polished silver plated liner.
Made in Paris, France in circa 1890 by Georges Falkenberg.
