A beautiful classic Charles II Silver oval shaped Tobacco Box with a large engraving on the lid. The cover is engraved with the arms of Hitchcock of Preshute, Wiltshire, crest of another. The base of the Box is plain silver.

Made in London in 1672, makers mark R.S.

The Box has a full hallmark on the base and is part marked on the lid.

The Tobacco Box is in excellent condition and has a lovely patina commensurate with age and use.
