A magnificent George III Solid Silver Basket with a round form and a traditional swing handle. The Basket has a Solid Base and elegant sides created through silver wire work to mirror a basket weave. The Rim of the basket has cross hatches to further mirror a basket weave pattern. The substantial swing handle has a twisted form and has stylised acanthus leaves just above each hinge. The Basket has a Stag Crest engraved in the centre of the base.
This basket is of particularly heavy weight and is excellent quality.
Made in 1780 in London by Wakelin & Taylor.
