A lovely, unusual Antique Victorian Solid Silver Christening Mug decorated with a wonderful chased scene around the entire body of the Mug. The chased scene is created in deep relief and shops a snowy mountain scene with a running mountain dog rescuing a small child from among the trees. There are buildings on a mountain top in the distance and the rescue dog wears a brandy barrel around his neck. The Mug sits on a shaped pedestal foot and had a chased scroll handle. The Mug has the original, contemporary engraving on the side. Date - 1857. Made in London. Maker - Robert Hennell. Approx. Weight - 205g Approx. Height to Handle - 12cm Approx. height to Rim - 10.6cm
