A magnificent Antique Victorian Solid Silver Jug or Ewer. This Jug features a wealth of impressive decorative detailing including a swan below the spout and a classical Bacchus Head below the handle. The lid has a spectacular finial in the shape of a Merhorse. The exterior of the jug is covered in an ornate leaf, vine and wheat design surrounding two shaped cartouches. In the centre of each cartouch is an image of a classically dressed woman. The Jug stands on a sturdy spread foot. Made in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1867. Approx. Weight - 1420g / 45.6oz Approx.
