A gorgeous Omar Ramsden Arts & Crafts solid Silver Casket / Box in a shaped rectangular form with the finial and bracket feet gilded. The bracket feet feature a chased design and the body and lid of the casket has a hammered finish. The gilded finial features two cherubs and a central figure raising a small nef / ship. The interior of the box is gilded.
The engraving dates from 1953, the date when Sir Alfred Jesse Suenson-Taylor, OBE, was created 1st Baron Grantchester of Knightsbridge. The helms are those for a peer.
