RARE RUSSIAN ANTIQUE SILVER TEA CANISTER / TEA CADDY 1879

A magnificent Antique Russian Solid Silver Tea Canister in a square form with a domed top and screw lid. The Canister is embellished with gorgeous Chinoiserie designs including Chinese style figures and stylised architectural details. Each panel has an intricate engraved border which compliments the engraved detailing on the upper panel and lid. The Caddy has a fitted cork stopper with hinged handle for sealing the opening.
Made in Moscow, Russia in 1879 by Andrei Alexandrov.
